SEO PR and Press Release

SEO PR stands for Search Engine Optimization Public Relations. The term has been coined to represent enhanced search engine visibility and conventional public relations. SEO PR is a tool used to distribute business and corporate message over the internet using various media tools and search engines. The advantage stems from the usage of search engine-friendly communication that is normally carried out through content optimization including press release, whitepapers, articles, blogs, and RSS feeds.

The importance of incorporating appropriate keywords in the content cannot be undermined in the SEO PR exercise. The content should represent a perfect blend of keywords and meaningful information. Most content that suffer a keyword overload fail to hold the attention of the reader. Readability and comprehension should not be compromised with.

Press releases should be well blended with search engine marketability. The idea to optimize a press release is to provide it with all possible opportunities to be picked up by various websites and search engines such as Google, Yahoo, and others that rely on news feeds. This, and SEO efforts through use of optimized keywords and links, allows a press release with instant online visibility. Sites that are related to the content in all probability will pick up the press release. 

Out of enthusiasm, many sites go in for keyword overkill or add a profusion of links to their press release to ensure pickups. But, there is a downside to such a strategy. A press release should be readable and comprehendible; information that is able to hold the interest of the reader. Information suffers mostly due to keyword overkill.  Press releases that are lined with an excess of links do not find favor with most search engines. Conversely, they may penalize the website generating such release with adverse ranking. Frequent releases for SEO purposes are counterproductive too.

People are looking for news worth reading. Keyword and link usage are tools which when used optimally ensure that the news reaches its intended destination.
